Home Sweet Home

We had such a wonderful vacation. I love going home to see everyone, especially when everything goes smoothly. I also like coming back home to see that my wonderful friends took care of things while we were gone. The dogs were well fed and loved ;), all my plants and garden were watered and even sprouting strawberries, green beans and tomatoes. Such a wonderful feeling and relief to have wonderful friends that help make our trip so much easier.
We hoped on a military mac flight Saturday and we were lucky enough to get on a DC-8 (commercial plane). It was a nice fast easy flight. We were welcomed by surprise at my mom's house by Amy and the crew. So we headed up to good'ol Yuba City for some rural living. Typical weather forecast for that area is hot, so we went to a great pool that belongs to some members of our church. Since Amy and I were able to be together so close to our birthday we decided to celebrate. Happy 33rd to us....Jeremy made me homemade carrot cake muffins and for Amy she had her favorite strawberry shortcake. Stacey, Mom and the girls were able to come and join us for a our little so called birthday party.
Perhaps the biggest adventure was going to the Science Museum in San Francisco. Typical forecast there.....foggy, cold and windy. We all loved the museum, especially the kids. We saw a "Big and Old Sea Bass", an albino alligator, butterflies of all colors and sizes, tons of beautiful fish and even a bunch of fake stuffed animals. As we left the museum first big oops was loosing Kya, and second we lost our cars. To make a long story short, Kya was thirsty and wanted a drink although never told anyone that was where he was going. We eventually found him....but my heart was going to explode. We parked on a street......which street and how to get back to the street was a mystery still to be figured out. We all walked about 3 miles (even the kids) till we found the cars...not cool at all.
That night Jeremy and I had to make a decision to stay or try and get a flight back to Hawaii. We decided to stay and go see Grandma Jeanette. We ordered pizza in and enjoyed a nice visit, I know she would have liked us to stay longer, we are sorry we couldn't.
Before we flew out on Sunday we spent Saturday at the movies with our cousins and then bowling. It was just a great trip and one that I'm sure the kids will never forget.

I'm so glad you had a great time on your trip. We'll have to get together soon again like we did a couple of years ago and have some more fun!
