Well this summer is going by fast, although we have days where I don't know what to do with myself or the kids. So Jeremy has Fridays off which is nice so we can go do things together that normally on the weekends could be really crowded. So yesterday we decided to go for a drive up the north side of the island to the church bookstore. On our way we stopped to help a stranded couple with their truck. Although their truck was sort of in a ditch.....it was a challenge to maneuver the van close enough to the truck so we could reach their battery. They were a very interesting couple to say it nicely. I will spare you the details. Shortly after we finally got everything hooked up the police arrived. It was a relief to see them, he asked us if we were ok and that if we still had all our belongings. I thought that was interesting..........then thought I wonder if we were putting ourselves in danger by trying to help. I felt bad sort of, but then realized these people didn't take anything and even though we couldn't start their truck (because it had major issues) I know we were being watched over. For Jeremy and I it is just in our nature to stop and help no matter what, not always sure we should but we do.
So we continued on our journey up to the bookstore, did our shopping and then headed back home. Then "bamm" our car over heated.........way out in the middle of no where.
As Jeremy started to make phone calls to get help, I wondered if anyone would stop for us today, like we had for someone else. Then maybe about 10minutes later after I realized we were completely out of engine coolant, someone stopped to help.
It was a nice sight to see a man with a uniform get out of his truck walking toward us. He was on his way to his nephews kindergartner graduation and decided to see if he could help. It turns out he had a huge container of water in the back of his truck. Oh and our car was thirsty........almost all of it went into the radiator and overflow. But it was good enough to get us home. We wouldn't need the tow truck and the cab we were calling. He was an angel to me that day.........and maybe it had something to do with what comes around goes around.
It's never fun to be stranded on a two lane rode 50 miles away from home.....with kids and dogs. I'm so thankful to my Heavenly Father for taking care of us. We love him and we never go a day without telling him this and how thankful we are that he does watch over us. For the last ten years our activity in the church hasn't always been steady. We made a decision when we moved to Hawaii that we would change that cycle. So many good things have happened for us since we have made this decision. I'm not trying to sound like a cheese ball......but I know Heavenly Father is so happy with us and he is blessing us. I don't always feel like we deserve everything he does for us, although that is what pushes me to grow. I want to serve more and give more so he knows that we truly love him and when we serve it is for him we do these things.
This weekend I will be called to Relief Society as a counselor in the Presidency........this is my third calling I hold. I feel so fortunate to be trusted with all of my responsibilities, now I just have to not let him down. :)
Alright enough of all that.........I hope everyone had a great day!

Call a cab???? You know you can always call me!!! You guys are awesome!!! Not many people would have stopped to help, although it did sound a little scary, I am glad you are all ok. Thanks again for all you guys do, I feel so fortunate to have you as a friend!!!
Now I feel bad because we drove by this little old man walking down the freeway back to a gas station yesterday!! Glad you are all safe and sound and not stranded on an island somewhere ;) You and Jeremy are great people with big hearts and the people over there will feel that love. Love you all
